Adobe Pushing Third Party Software?

Security researcher Aviv Raff has revealed that the Adobe Download Manager can be tricked into installing third party software. Adobe has responded, and stated that they are working with Raff to resolve the issue. Unexpected Adobe updates should be treated with caution and researched.

In the mean time, we have received a report that Adobe may be bundling third party software into their updates. One of our readers noted a new desktop icon for McAfee Security Scan Plus. After doing some research into the program, we have found an affiliate link for Adobe on McAfee’s website. We have attempted to contact Adobe to confirm that this is indeed the source of the new program.
